Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 September 2026 · FolioSpan (“we”, “the app”)
FolioSpan helps you track investments and blockchain wallet holdings. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can delete it.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — email address, display name, authentication provider (email, Google, Apple, or guest/anonymous). Processed by Firebase Authentication.
- Portfolio data you enter — holdings, transactions, watchlists, notes, custom chains, price alerts, base currency and language preferences. Stored on your device (SQLite / Secure Store) and, when signed in, synced to Firebase Firestore under your user ID.
- Wallet addresses you choose to scan — public blockchain addresses used only to fetch on-chain balances/history via third-party RPC/API providers (e.g. Ankr, Alchemy, Solana RPC, TronGrid, Blockfrost, TON Center, Etherscan-compatible explorers).
- Subscription / purchase status — processed by Apple App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat to unlock Pro features. We do not receive your full payment card number.
- Advertising identifiers — Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) may use the Android Advertising ID (AD_ID) and, on iOS, an advertising identifier only if you grant App Tracking Transparency. In the EEA/UK we show Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form before personalized ads. We request non-personalized ads by default when possible.
- CSV files you import — transaction rows you choose to import stay in the on-device portfolio database and, when signed in, sync to Firestore under your user ID.
- News headlines — the news surface may fetch the public Cointelegraph RSS feed. That request does not include your portfolio or wallet addresses.
- Perpetual / futures marks (optional) — read-only market data from CoinGecko derivatives and Binance Futures public APIs, using the asset symbol only. FolioSpan cannot place, open, or close trades.
- Diagnostics (optional) — if a Sentry DSN is configured in a build, crash/error reports may include device model, OS version, and stack traces (not your portfolio contents by design).
- Local device features — Face ID / biometrics stay on-device; notifications are local alerts you configure; motion sensors may be used for shake-to-hide balances. On Android,
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETEDmay be used so local price alerts can be rescheduled after a restart. Alert evaluation stays on-device.
2. How we use data
- Provide portfolio tracking, wallet scans, sync, and Pro entitlements.
- Show ads to free users (unless Pro or temporary ad-free mode is active).
- Run periodic background checks (when the OS permits) to evaluate price/portfolio alerts you create and deliver local notifications, including after device restart.
- Improve reliability (crash reporting when enabled).
- Comply with law and prevent abuse.
3. Third parties
Depending on features you use, data may be processed by:
- Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore)
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign In
- RevenueCat + Apple/Google billing
- Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)
- Blockchain data providers listed above
- Market data providers (CoinGecko and Yahoo Finance) for prices, charts, and asset search
- Cointelegraph (public RSS headlines)
- Binance Futures public market-data API (read-only marks; no trading)
- Sentry (only if configured)
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Retention & deletion
You can delete your account in the app (Settings / Quick Options → Delete account). That removes your Firebase Auth user and associated Firestore documents, local portfolio database, and related app caches for that account. If you use the app as a guest (without an account), Settings → Delete account (or Erase local data) erases all locally stored data on your device without a cloud login. Deleting a registered account requires a recent sign-in (email, Google, or Apple). If Google Sign-In is unavailable, sign out and sign in with email if you have one, or use the support page.
We cannot erase App Store/Play receipts, OS backups you made, or certain purchase records kept by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat. Cancel subscriptions in your store account settings.
5. Children
FolioSpan is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country).
